ABOUT US

Selwyn Parenting Network is a community charity that exists to support, strengthen and empower parents, caregivers and families across Selwyn, so children and young people can thrive.
We are best known for what we make easier.
When life gets hard, systems get confusing, or support feels out of reach, we help families find a way through. We connect parents and caregivers to trusted services, advocate where there are gaps, and help people navigate what exists, without judgement and without the runaround.
Selwyn is changing fast. It is one of New Zealand’s fastest-growing districts, with a large proportion of children and young people and a community that is becoming more diverse every year. That brings energy and opportunity, but it can also leave families time-poor, isolated, and unsure where to turn. We are here for that reality, and we work across Selwyn’s towns and rural communities.
We also bring trusted expertise into Selwyn through events and initiatives that make
support realistic for everyday families. We create welcoming spaces where parents can access good information, feel less alone, and leave with next steps that actually help.
Our work is grounded in community voice and partnership. We develop community-led projects and working groups, strengthen belonging, and ensure families, including migrant families, rural families, neurodiverse whanau, and those navigating youth and parental mental health challenges, are seen and supported.
